Crestron iPod Dock Options
Different Options to Integrate Your iPod in to a Crestron System
Integrating an iPod in to a Crestron multiroom system makes a lot of sense - the familiar interface is easy to use and your digital music collection is available in the home as well as on the move. By docking your iPod anywhere in the home you can access your entire iTunes library from any Crestron touchpanel.
Crestron iPod interface with Video
The CEN-IDOCV consists of two parts - an interface module which mounts out of sight and a sleek and stylish docking station designed to sit on a shelf or table top. The system can be mounted away from the main Crestron audio video equipment as it send audio and video over in-expensive Cat5e. The system will even sync over Ethernet with iTunes ensuring the iPod is easily updated with no music and video.
Crestron iPod Wall Mount Interface
Offering the same functionality as the above tabletop iPod dock (CEN-IDOCV) the CEN-IDOCV-DSW brings both parts together in to a wall mount docking station. Installing the wall mount version can be a tidier solution than the tabletop version and makes perfect sense by a front door. Docking the iPod when coming in for the evening provides audio around the home (as part of a Crestron Whole House AV system) as well as charging the iPod for the next days commute. You can even use the controls on the front of the iPod to select music if it is more convenient than the nearest touchpanel.
Crestron iServer - Fixed iPod Integration
The Crestron iServer takes the above iPod docks a stage further - it utilise's an iPod as it's engine and provides all the benefits of the above such as synching over ethernet and easy control. The Server installs in the hub area with the rest of the Crestron equipment. The fixed nature of the iPod ensures that your music collection is always available - ensuring when a member of the family leaves the house they don't take the music collection with them! In common with all the Crestron iPod offerings you can search by genre, artist, album and track whilst viewing cover art on touchpanel's.
