The Crestron Digital Media system is arguable the most exciting product to be released in recent years. The system enables any HDMI source to be distributed to multiple rooms - the DM-MD8x8 allows 8 sources to be input and routed to any output whilst the DM-MD16x16 allows 16 inputs. The flexibility of the matrix allows any input to go to just one output or all of them simultaneously - with no loss of quality or degradation. This means recordings on a Sky HD receiver or a Blue Ray film can be enjoyed anywhere in the home - at 1080p deep colour video resolution and HD audio
The most Flexible HD switcher ever....
In addition to switching HDMI sources the system will also allow you to input any number of non HDMI sources - from composite video through to computer signals. Computers and games consoles (up to an impressive resolution of 1920 x 1200 WUXGA) can be installed in the main rack and used in remote rooms - the system will transfer USB from its room receivers to the central area - allowing keyboards and games controllers to be used.
...and the Most Scalable.
The HDMI out on the input cards allows multiple DM switchers to be daisy chained together - allowing a potential 5 DM switchers to be connected together. This allows an extremely large Digital Media system to be built with every output benefiting from seamless switching.
Send HD over huge distances
The Crestron Digital Media System can send HD over a huge distance - inexpensive Cat5e can send 1080p deep colour video and HD audio up to 30m over inexpensive Cat5e cabling, boosted to 120m with the use of boosters. Should longer distances be required then the system even has a fibre solution allowing the very best HD video and audio to be sent up to 300m - enough for the biggest of projects.
QuickSwitch HD Technology
Other HDMI switchers may cause displays to flicker whilst they struggle to lock on to the HDMI signal, or disappear altogether should another display attempt to watch the same source. The Crestron Digital Media switchers are unique in that they maintain a constant HDCP connection with each HDMI device ensuring instant source selection and none of the issues.
Digital Media Room Receivers
Room Receivers accept the distributed HD signal, from either Cat5e or Fibre, and present a HDMI output to be plugged in to a display device. The room controllers also have a large amount of control options to allow seamless control of any display device. Please see here for more information.
