The Homeworks 8 series processor is as good as it gets, it has a huge number of connections available and has enough processing power to control many different circuits. The processor has a number of connections including 2 x RS-232 ports for communicating with third party systems (like a Crestron or AMX control system), ethernet (allowing remote control and fast communication) and 4 configurable links to talk to other Lutron devices. The processor will support up to 256 lighting zones (or circuits) and a huge number of keypads. It is also very straightforward to install multiple processors to control huge lighting schemes!

The 4 series processor contains a lot of the features of the 8 series, it still has an RS-232 port and ethernet it just has slightly less power - enough for 96 circuits (or zones) and half as many keypads. The 4 series is adequate in most situations and still allows access to astronomical clock, holiday mode and advanced scheduling.

Lutron Homeworks RF Processors

The Homeworks 8 Series processor is able to take an RF repeater on one of its links whilst a special version of the Homeworks 4 processor exists for RF systems. The fact they are RF enabled allows the lighting system to be extended in to rooms and areas at a later date with no re-wiring. We have a dedicated page available on Homeworks RF.
