Cutting Edge Surround Sound for a Chelsea Living Room Cinema
This design is for a Chelsea living room cinema / surround sound system to be installed in a duplex apartment. The brief was to install a very high end surround sound system with minimal disruption to the room and the least amount of visible kit possible. After showing the client the living room in our recent City Apartment project we quickly settled on a solution – a top of the range Samsung Q Series TV, Artcoustic Soundbar with on-wall surround speakers, Anthem AVR and an 8″ boxed Subwoofer with Artcoustic in-ceiling rear speakers.
Stunning TV with Integrated Sound Bar
The top of the range Samsung TV delivers amazing clarity and detail and is enhanced by a custom width Artcoustic soundbar fitted to the underside of the TV and colour matched surround speakers on the walls. The TV and Soundbar combination is wall mounted via a Future Automation high end mount – alllowing the TV and soundbar to be pulled out and rotated for the perfect viewing angle no matter where the client is sat in the room. As the soundbar is mounted to the TV the audio follows the TV no matter of the orientation. A high end Anthem AVR powers the soundbar, subwoofer and ceiling speakers (providing surround sound) and also allows full EQ of the system to account for room harmonics. We use this design in a lot of our systems for the simple reason it excels and guarantees a fantastic experience for clients. The design has a similar pedigree to our bigger cinema rooms and as the system is modular we can ensure a system which satisfies client requirements and budget at the same time.
Easy and Intuitive Control too
The whole system is easily controlled by a Crestron Home Automation system with a dedicated remote control making the system extremely easy to use – one button press ensure the right source is selected perfectly every time. Lighting control is not currently part of the system but the clients are currently evaluating whether to add Crestron wireless lighting in to the system – an upgrade which can be performed with the minimum of fuss and disruption.
