At Custom Controls we specialise in installing high end, reliable Wifi systems with excellent coverage throughout your property. With the rollout of super fast fibre networks throughout the area Wifi has never been more important, particularly with the numbers of devices in use by clients in larger chalets. Our Wifi systems are totally scalable which allows us to deliver maximum speeds for every client, in every area of a property.
We support any type of Internet Connection – ADSL, Fibre and Starlink
Our Wifi installations are completely independent of the internet connection – meaning we can bypass the provider-supplied router, with poor Wifi range and slow speeds. We regularly integrate fibre, ADSL, Starlink and 5G connections and we sometimes install two technologies to provide redundancy and higher speeds. If you would like Orange Fibre to your chalet but with the reassurance of 5G backup then that is not a problem.
Fully designed and Guaranteed Wifi Coverage
During the design phase we can upload your chalet floor plans and overlay our Wifi equipment, providing a heat map of coverage and showing us the ideal location for access points. After a site survey we can then tweak these designs to account for any pre-installed cabling and preferred locations to house access points – behind TVs, on top of cupboards being some of the usual places.
No Cables? No problem!
The majority of new build chalets, and recent renovations, have some network cabling installed. We will generally prioritise the use of this cable by adding Wireless Access Points on to our heat map at each of these locations and then supplementing mesh-based access points as required. This ensures we are making the most of installed infrastructure and only adding coverage on if required. It is essential any existing network cables are well terminated as this can have a huge bearing on a Wifi system’s reliability. Our team are experts in installing network infrastructure and we regularly rebuild comms hubs where cabling from the chalet and incoming internet feeds meet – ensuring an easy to support and reliable system going forward.

Chalet CCTV systems
Although we are lucky enough to live in an incredibly safe environment it can be nice to add CCTV to your new chalet – even if it is just to see where a parcel has been left or to admire the view when away. We use a similar approach to the Wifi heatmaps to ensure great CCTV coverage where it is needed the most and ensuring clients can visualise the coverage before we perform any installation work. The main hub of the Wifi system also allows easy integration of CCTV cameras and we can install a network video recorder to store footage for as long as a client would like. Modern CCTV cameras have amazing 4K resolution and some of the higher end cameras even have AI built in to allow things like face recognition and auto adjustment to ensure the best possible image at all times.
In addition to CCTV the same system can integrate door access and intercoms – allowing visitors to ring the doorbell and be allowed access when clients are away or on a couple of levels above in the hot tub! For rental properties access keypads by the front door can allow access via unique codes generated for each client.
Auto-Updating, Auto Optimising
The entire system – Wifi and Security – can be set to auto-optimise and auto update. This ensures the Wifi is always interference-free with perfectly balanced power levels and firmware and software is always running the latest stable version, ensuring security and reliability. Should a client require intervention we can access a management portal to make tweaks and changes remotely, we can even view the Wifi experience of individual clients. Chalet Music Systems & Hi-Fi
As well as stunning Wifi systems we also install also music systems to sit on the same network. Our music systems can work wired or wirelessly allowing any room, or outside space, to be included and zones can be joined together to provide seamless audio throughout. Streaming radio from around the world is as easy as listening to the latest Spotify playlist or podcast and different rooms can listen to different things at once – complete flexibility and family harmony! Chalet Lighting Control Systems
We regularly perform upgrades to existing lighting control systems, and perform new installations, throughout the french alps. With large open plan spaces becoming ever more popular, lighting control systems are becoming a must have. Providing easy control of lights ensures perfect lighting levels throughout the property and day / dusk sensors bring lights on automatically, after dark, ensuring the chalet looks its absolute best at all times. The Mayor of Morzine has even requested chalet owners display white lights from sunset to midnight to show the village off at it’s absolute best – something we are very pleased to help with!
