Custom Controls have been certified Lutron dealers in London since 1998 — the year Lutron Homeworks first became available in the UK. Pre-built, pre-programmed racks. Every Lutron Homeworks QSX rack we build is fully wired, tested and programmed at our workshop before it arrives on site. Dimmer modules are wired and labelled, all circuits are mapped to the programme, all scenes are loaded and verified. The rack arrives in operating condition — on-site work involves connecting lighting circuits and refining scenes in the finished space, not building the system from components. For London projects where access is constrained and time on site is expensive, this matters.
Multi-floor and multi-building London projects. London townhouses with six or more floors, basement extensions, outbuildings and integrated garden lighting require a Lutron system designed across multiple distribution points. We design the rack topology specifically for each property — a dedicated dimmer distribution board on each floor where appropriate, with the whole system reporting to a central QSX processor and integrated with Crestron on the floor below. Whole-house scenes operate across every floor simultaneously from a single keypad at the front door.
Motorised curtains and blinds as standard. Lutron Sivoia motorised shading is programmed into every scene alongside the lighting circuits. A dining room scene dims the pendant and draws the dining room curtains simultaneously. A goodnight scene dims every light in the house, closes every blind and lowers the bedroom blackout blinds in sequence. For London homes in high-density neighbourhoods, automated privacy management is a meaningful daily benefit.
Integrated HVAC response. Via Crestron integration, Lutron shading participates in whole-home environmental management — south-facing blinds close automatically in summer to reduce cooling loads, reopening in the evening when direct sun moves off the elevation.

Primrose Hill, London
A large north London townhouse where Lutron Homeworks QSX controls all lighting across six floors, with Sivoia motorised blinds on the front and rear elevations. The Lutron system is integrated with Crestron for whole-home automation — lighting scenes respond to AV source selection, the arrival scene activates when the front door is unlocked and the all-off scene is triggered when the alarm is armed. Surrey Home Cinema
A dedicated basement cinema room in Surrey where Lutron lighting design is integral to the cinema experience. Four individually controllable lighting circuits — cove uplighting, seat spotlights, stair riser LEDs and entrance downlights — are programmed into five scenes: pre-show, film, interval, exit and cleaning. Each scene is recalled from a Lutron Palladiom keypad at the entrance and from the Crestron touchpanel at the seating position. The cinema scene dims all circuits to their precise calibrated levels in a fifteen-second ramp that is itself part of the experience.
Belgravia, London
A Lutron RadioRA 3 retrofit installation in a Grade II listed Belgravia townhouse. The listed status made rewiring impractical; RadioRA 3’s wireless operation allowed a whole-home professional lighting control system to be installed without opening a single wall or disturbing the historic fabric. The installation covers twelve lighting zones across five floors, with Sivoia wireless motorised blinds on all principal room windows, all recalled from Lutron Vierti keypads matched to the interior’s colour scheme.
