Professional Home Automation Control Processor
The PRO2 from Crestron is the flagship 2 series control processor. It has a powerful internal processor, lots of memory and a huge amount of connectivity options built in - from low voltage relays (x8) to RS232 Serial ports (x6) and an Ethernet port (either one or two ports). The PRO2, as do all Crestron processors, benefits from the usual Crestron add on modules which run on the Crestron CresNET network.
Automation Mini Control Processor
At the other end of the scale from the PRO2 controller is the PAC2M mini automation controller. This controller has a similar architecture to the PRO2 and usually resides in our lighting and automation controllers. It features less connectivity but features a built in hub which allows us to bring lots of automation control modules together very efficiently.
Ethernet Enabled Room Media Control Processor
The QM-RMC is an extremely compact control processor typically used by us in very large installations. Its compact size allow us to discreetly mount the processor at a projector and control not only the projector (power, source etc) but also a screen or curtains using the built in low voltage relays. Its Ethernet port means we can build very large and very scalable installations relatively easily. This processor can then be controlled via a central processor, by a web page or by a PDA. We can even integrate with Crestron's RoomView help desk software for remote administration or support.
Benefits of the Modular Crestron Family
These modules can include curtain and blind control modules, specific devices to control air-conditioning or lighting control modules. In fact with the Crestron family of products any electrical device can be controlled. The advantage of the modular approach is control equipment can be distributed throughout the building (or campus) reducing expensive and messy re-wiring.
