Sony have been our go to range of Home Cinema Projectors for some time now – they represent great value for money and the range ensures a projector for most budgets and requirements. The latest range has a stunning 4K resolution and is laser powered for a super bright, high resolution image. We explore the range a little below and give some details on the projectors which normally find their way in to our home cinema installs.

The Sony VPL-VW5000 – Guide Price £65,000!

Wow is the only word to describe this range topping home cinema projector – it is extremely bright and offers a stunningly high resolution. The brightness means that huge cinema screens can easily filled whilst the high resolution ensures a stunning picture. If you have the budget then this is the projector for you!

Sony VPL-VW870 – Guide Price £25,000

This projector shares it’s DNA with it’s big brother – offering a super crisp and bright image, better than most projectors on the market but not quite range topping.

Sony VPL-VW760 – Guide Price £15,000

This is our go to projector which features in the majority of our cinema rooms eg Surrey Home Cinema Room. The projector shares a lot of features with it’s bigger brothers and is pretty much unrivalled at this price point.

Sony VPL-VW570 – Guide Price £8,000

A simply stunning projector for smaller cinema rooms or rooms with minimal ambient light (for example basement cinema rooms) this projector rocks – a cheaper price point which still provides an outstanding experience.

Sony VPL-VW270 – Guide Price £5,000

Although the baby of this group this cinema projector should not be under estimated – this is a serious piece of kit which is capable of filling a big home cinema screen with a stunning picture. Lighting levels need to be managed but in the right environment this projector delivers and it outperforms most of the competition at this relatively low price point.

Summary

Any of these projectors will satisfy the majority of people and will be a huge step up from the old HD bulb based projectors.
